Personal Update

ar Friend,

I hope you're having a great week...

Greg Vincent - Eagle RockI feel full of ‘energy’ today & in a moment I’ll share with you exactly why today is such a ‘energetic’ day.

But before I do I just wanted to share an experience I had earlier this week when I went for a 15km hike with my eldest daughter Natasha along the Coast Walk from Bundeena to Garie Beach (about 20 km’s South-East of Sydney CBD).

It was a great feeling to be walking along in the bush looking out over the Sydney skyline & our magnificent NSW coastline.

Whilst we encountered some wallabies, an echidna & a snake, one of the amazing features we saw along the way was Eagle Rock, a rock formation that is thousands of years old.

It reminded me of the Eagle Rock song by Daddy Cool & how that song has become a timeless anthem throughout the generations of Baby Boomers, Gen X & Gen Y.

It’s amazing in this fast-paced world we live in to see that some of the fundamental things don’t change.

Which brings me to the reason why I feel full of 'energy' today.

There is a changing of the guard that is about to take place right across the globe & it's something that will ultimately have a big impact on the real estate industry, and that is, for the very first time ever...

By 2010, Gen Y will outnumber Baby Boomers.
(approx. 90 days time)

So in anticipation of these changes I am proud to announce that we have just launched a new website to ensure that we will always remain at the forefront of what’s happening within the real estate industry.

The new site is:-

GenYre = energy

This new GenYre.com site should help to educate real estate agents across all generations about the changing face of the real estate industry.

It will also provide an amazing insight into the generation who are set to have the greatest impact on our industry moving forward – Gen Y.

Numerous young leaders from within the real estate industry will be contributing to the GenYre = energy site and as one of the contributors Braden Waters said to me earlier today, “Breaking down the barriers between Gen Y and X/Baby Boomers is an important issue.”

GenYre = energy attaches great importance to your comments and suggestions so feel most welcome to share your ideas & improvements with us.

And if you feel that you have something to contribute to our audience GenYre = energy then feel most welcome to write to me via info@realestateagentsuccessclub.com.

How can agents become better storytellers?

Tell it from your heart and make sure it has a purpose. The purpose of a story is to make or reinforce a point.

If it isn’t relevant, either mould it to suit (as most stories can be manipulated to make a point) or don’t use it.

A funny story is great, but again, it has to be relevant.

I’ve always found that the stories that work best for me are those that I’ve experienced personally; since I know the story I don’t have to worry about forgetting part of it.

Also, I know it’s original and that I am the only person that can be hurt by it. And, I can tell it with passion and humour because I’ve lived it!

I think one of the secrets to telling a good story is first making sure it really is a story that has a high point and an ending.

As you deliver it, try stepping into the story and acting parts of it out as if it were really happening right now.

To build greater rapport with the audience make sure they are laughing at you rather than some other nameless person.

As an agent or as a presenter, if something funny, strange or even bad happens to you during your day, you should be asking yourself, ‘How can I make this story work for me in my next presentation?’
